Licences
Two types of licence are available to a Member if they decide to license an author's idea:
-
a 12-month licence
for the territory or territories specified by the Member, renewable upon negotiation with OpenAd.net and the author -
a perpetual licence
for worldwide use. Once an idea is licensed this way, the author renounces all material rights to it in perpetuity.
A perpetual licence is twice the price of a 12-month licence.
When a Member's 12-month licence expires, they alone have the right to extend that licence, either for further 12 months or in perpetuity. Ideas cannot be re-licensed by another Member. The licence fee can be re-negotiated at this point but may not exceed four times the initial price. If you have any questions regarding this, please contact licence@openad.net.
All negotiations regarding licence extensions must be conducted through OpenAd.net.
