OpenAd Expands Its Creative Reach in the United States

With nearly 9,000 creatives in 122 countries, there is no argument that OpenAd.net is an incredibly vast online resource for creative advertisers. It has even been coined the “eBay of ideas.” (The UK Independent Newspaper)

This year, OpenAd.net is expanding into the US market and bringing its university program, OpenAdTalent into the mix. OpenAdTalent has a year long, annual competition that was designed to help prepare adverting students for work after college. It is an international competition in which creative students from all over the world compete with one another for cash awards as an incentive, all the while learning how to create and sell a good idea.

Last year, OpenAdTalent had over 40 universities from all over the world competing. Two of those were US schools. “This year, I’d like to have at least 20 US schools compete,” says, EmilyAnne Skinner, the professional chosen to introduce OpenAd to the US.

EmilyAnne holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Texas at Austin Communications School, (the number one undergraduate advertising program in the country) and her experience includes advertising, marketing and pr on a local, regional and national scale. Her experience in event planning was cultivated in Washington, DC where some of her clients were top government agencies and non-profit organizations.

Part of EmilyAnne’s charge will be to introduce OpenAdTalent to students across the nation. “The creative talent in the US is exceedingly impressive, and I want OpenAdTalent participation in the US to mirror that of the international market; I’d love to see a U.S. school win this year!” says Skinner.

With a free trip to London for the OpenAdTalent finalists, what student wouldn’t want to sign up and try to win?

For More information, including this year’s winners, pitches and results can be found on the OpenAd Talent website or MySpace Page.
