Your user type depends on who owns the material rights to an idea.

If you are going to upload company owned ideas, register as a company. If you are uploading your own ideas, register as freelance.

IMPORTANT:
If you are contracted to a company as an employee or as a regular freelancer or contract worker, but would like to have 'freelance' status on OpenAd.net, please make sure you have your employer's written permission (waiver) to work on business outside your company (agency), with which they waive any rights to Ideas you enter on OpenAd.net. This will minimise the possibility of disputes regarding ownership of Ideas you are selling. Also, do watch out that you are not pitching for business that may be in conflict with your existing clients.

If you are registering as a company (agency), note that all Ideas entered will be considered company property. If you are not the owner or managing director of the company, make sure you have written permission from your employer to enter company owned Ideas on OpenAd.net.

You can download draft waiver letters for the employers to sign:

More about User types
User type depends on who owns the material rights to an idea. Whether you register as a company or as freelance, you must ensure that you have full copyright ownership of all the elements of the material submitted. Freelance Sellers who are students must ensure that copyright ownership of any material they submit is not held by their educational institution; educational institutions must be registered as a company and may upload ideas created by students, when the institution owns the material rights to these ideas.

To find out more about the various types of account and user, please use OpenAd.net's Help section.
More about registering on OpenAd.net
To open your Seller's account you will be asked to provide accurate personal details (your full name, registered address, etc) and send us two signed hard copies of the Assignment, thereby confirming that you agree to the terms of the Author Agreement, a document which legally binds you to the terms and conditions of doing business with OpenAd.net. Please make sure that the information you provide is accurate, truthful and complete.

In all cases you may not upload creative work that has been published before, nor must any work uploaded contain any brandnames or trademarks. All third-party copyright issues, such as the right to use photography or music within an idea, must be cleared prior to sale on OpenAd.net.

At the end of the registration process you will receive a validation email. Clicking the link within the validation email activates your Seller's account. This means you have completed the registration process. You can now log into OpenAd.net using your username and password and begin using the upload features. All these processes are free of charge.

Please note that you may begin uploading your ideas as soon as you have completed the registration process, but your ideas will not be available to Buyers to view until we have received the two signed copies of the Assignment.

If you would like to register as a Buyer, please proceed to the Buyers' Registration section. You may choose to be both a Buyer and a Seller, but you must register separately for both account types.
